Hughes Taylor is a blues-rock guitarist and songwriter from Macon, Georgia, known for his fiery guitar work and soulful vocals. Influenced by legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and the Allman Brothers, his music fuses classic blues with modern rock energy. His latest album, Roasted (2025), is a two-part LP—Dark Roast and Light Roast—that showcases both heavy, gritty blues and upbeat, vibrant grooves. Recorded across Georgia and mixed at the legendary Capricorn Sound Studios, the album has earned critical acclaim, including a Blues Blast Award nomination for the single “Ballad of Big Bill McGuire.” With earlier releases like Modern Nostalgia (2021), Restless (2018), and Good Blues, Fast (2019), Hughes has built a reputation for electrifying live shows and authentic songwriting. He began his journey at 12, was gigging professionally by 14, and continues to tour nationwide, delivering passionate performances that honor blues tradition while pushing the genre forward.
